Your output has to be more then your input; in other words, less calories, more exercise. Drink lots of water is always the best advice, at least 8 oz. glasses, eight times, plus anything you take in in the way of beverage helps too.

You probably won't like my answer, but if you really want to lose weight the answer is not to eat less (believe it or not)... it is to eat the right foods at the right times and exercise.

Water is going to be important to proper weight loss, but eating less food will do the opposite of what you want by causing your body to store fat and steal protein/nutrition from your muscles and that decreases strength, so this is NOT a good approach!

If you want to lose weight, break your meals down into smaller, more frequent meals, eat lots of protein, vegetables and fruit, and exercise! Here, exercise increases your metabolism and keeps your body burning calories throughout the entire day, even while sleeping, so it is proper nutrition, proper water intake, proper sleep AND exercise that makes for the fastest, and safest weight loss, OK?

Be clear, that if you exercise and eat properly over the long run, you will see weight loss, but you may also see some weight gain, but that would be GOOD weight gain as you may be adding muscle (which weighs more than fat), so do not let that be a discouraging factor if you actually work hard and stick to your goals long-term!

I am someone that has experienced difficulty with weight until I finally managed to understand the information I present here! I am glad to discuss this more with you if you want, OK?

The other key to weight loss (which almost no one talks about) is that during the first 60 minutes of aerobic exercise you burn primarily carbohydrates. Meaning that if you want to burn fat you need to exercise for more than an hour. So if your goal is to loose weight (by losing fat) it is much better to workout for say 90 + minutes three times a week than it is to workout for less than 60 minutes 5 or more times a week. Another way to look at is by doing less than 60 minutes of aerobic exercising you are basically burning off whatever it was that you have eaten that day where as when you exercise for more than 60 minutes you start burning all of the excess food you have ingested.

If all you want to do is loose 3 - 5 lbs quickly there are many many liquid only starvation diets out there which will help you loose that kind of weight in anywhere from 2 to 10 days.. . But they are almost always marketed as "cleansing" products whose proclaimed benefits have never been proven by hard science (and they are products I would never recommend to anyone much less would I take them myself).. . Not to mention that you can not maintain those kind of diets for more than about 10 days or so.. . Not to mention that without sensible diet and exercise you will just gain the weight back in 7 - 14 days. In all honesty these types of diets are based on the worst kind of science there is (anecdotal evidence) but there are many people who have been successful using them for a bit of quick weight loss. The only reason I mention them is to say.. . Do not use them.. . And because it seems that the question you are really asking is do these type of diets work.

The short version of all of this is there is no reliable quick weight loss method. If you want to loose weight and keep it off the solution is to eat sensibly and exercise as Mark suggested.

No one is going to help you lose weight in an unhealthy manner- I'm sure you already know: no junk food, lots of fruit and vegetables, controlled portions, more exercise.

It's also about toning, not just losing weight.

EDIT: Please don't open new threads on the same subject.

Then talk to your Doctor about diet pills - which I doubt he'll prescribe.

    Do more pole dancing.
