(I) A Jamaican firm exports $80m of merchandise to China and receives payment in the form of a check drawn on a Jamaican Bank.

(ii) National Commercial Bank pays $10m in dividends to foreign shareholders

(iii) A german company sells its holding of $15m stocks and uses this money to build a manufacturing facility in a part of the country

(iv) A resident purchases a retirement condo in Florida for $10 million

To what extent do you agree that are black markets for foreign currency emerging in the caribbean?

I said I strongly agree and due to recent surveys on lottery scams and it allows proves that there is a black market, where locals would naturally prefer a currency worth more on the international market. Local vendors would sell trinkets such as souvieners , to tourist charging them in their currency , As our currency has been depreciated
And because there is no legislative action taken by the government and it is remincent of a parallel market
