    Mange and Atroban
I have 2 adult dogs that weigh about 90lbs each. One is black, Inky, and the other one is white, Rowdy. Both of them have patches of hair missing and Rowdy have a very red and irritated belly. Inky has black skin but it looks like it is irritated. Not to the question. Last year I had a couple of Boar goat kids that got goat mange and the vet gave me several syringes of Atroban to put on their skin. I have 2 syringes, 6 cc each left from last year. I was wondering if 1) it is stable for over a year and 2) if it can be used on dogs and 3) if it would work. Any info would be great. I know I should take them to the vet but I have 7 large dogs and I can afford to take them.

I have another unrelated question about my Chihuahua. He is about 2yrs and weights 7lbs. The other morning he threw up 2 times in my bed and it looked just like feces. I have never seen anything like this before and I have had dogs all my life. Should I worry and take him to the vet or since it should 3 days ago should I just keep a close eye on him.

Thanks again 2 all of you.

It's not recommended for humans to use other people's prescriptions without consulting a professional, I believe the same rule applies here as well.
I would call your local vet and ask.

About your throw up, all I know is that if it looks like feces and it smells like feces it's probably feses, it's not uncommon for dogs to eat their own poop or other dog poops, actually my dog use to eat his poop, and he tried eating cat poop once too.

The right half of my brain says take the dogs to the vet. On the other hand, I am a cheapskate. Perhaps go to the website of the manufacturer and see if it is listed for use on dogs. They might even have dose/body weight listed.

And Jessyfay maybe right on the feces. Keep an eye on him including around the other dogs. I assume he is not one of the 7 big ones. You must have a huge heart.

A year is not a problem with most meds. Take labman's advice and see if that medication can be used for dogs and what the proper dosage is. If you can't find anything, call the vet. They usually don't charge for a phone consult.

Regarding your chihuahua, both posters are probably right. As long as he has not vomited again, his eyes are bright, and he is his normal happy self, I wouldn't worry about it and waste a visit to the vet. I know it is hard with the brood you have, but if you can, try to watch him closely when he is outside and see what he is picking up off the ground.
