    What type of wire should I use to run a 120v outdoor overhead wire Approx 150' to another building.

    You would use overhead quadplex. The bare ground messenger has a steel core to handle the physical load.

    If you are only running a 120 line can you bury it? If so use 12/2 UF, lot cheaper than quadplex.
