    Sulphur smell from water
    If I have a sulphur smell what type of anode rod should I go to

    Have you confirmed that the smell is only occurring with your hot water? If so, then you may want to try a ZINC or zinc alloy anode rod as these type of rods do not seem to react with the sulpher-reducing bacterium as much as the most common type of anode rod made from magnesium.

    Be sure to wash your water heater and pipes with a couple pints of hydrogen peroxide after you install the new anode rod. Here, after removing the old anode rod, pour a couple pints of hydrogen peroxide in the tank and then install the new anode and fill the tank with water. Let the tank sit undisturbed for an hour and then flush the water/peroxide up through the pipes in the home until the water runs clear. Now, turn the power source to the water heater on (electric or gas on) and set the proper temperature and you should be god to go!
