Taxes for f1 opt with 1099-misc income
    Hi,

I'm utterly confused, and I need some help.

I'm an Indian citizen in New York who was working freelance on my F1-OPT period (which is legal). I have got 1099-MISC forms for the income I earned. Now, my questions are:

-- First and foremost, what forms do I have to fill? (I've heard three forms mentioned so far: 1090NR, Schedule C and form 8843. Do I fill all three and send them out accordingly?)
-- Since I think I am extremely late, so can I file them later or something?

Thanks for the help--really appreciate it.

    Sorry--typo earlier--I meant the 1040NR.

And just to clarify--I am unsure of what to fill in the 1040NR and schedule C forms.
Since I have 1099-MISC income, do I need to make a mention of that anywhere on the 1040NR? Or, does it just have my personal details and that's it?

So utterly confused. Any help would be appreciated.

You use the Schedule C to report your Form 1099-MISC income and to deduct any of your valid expenses associated with earning that Form 1099 income. The result of these calculations are then transferred to Line #13 of Form 1040NR.

That result is then added to your other income (w-2 wages listed on #8) to determine your tax liability.

There is self-employment tax due to your student status.
