Line 2 on M1 form - should I put standard deduction?
Hello All, I am a Nonresident alien from india on F-1 visa (under OPT). Should I be putting the standard deductions from my federal return on Line 2 of the M1 Minnesota state tax return form? It says "State income tax or sales tax addition. If you itemized deductions on federal Form 1040, complete the worksheet on page 10 of the instructions", however I used standard deduction.
    Please help!

    Thanks

Since you can claim the standard deduction on the federal return, you can do the same on the Minnesota return.
