    Pain in abdomen getting worse, along with bloating
    I'm a 52 yr. old female with a history of diverticulosis, other issues like blood pressure and high cholesterol and a LOT of stress. I started having lower left abdominal pain this morning and it has gotten progressively worse... very severe and sharp now, and spread upwards. I'm bloated also. I've taken laxative, stool softener, oil enema and nothing is changing. I'm wondering if I need to go to the hospital... I have taken 2 pain pills in hopes that it will go away by the time the pain pill wears off, but it still hurts very bad even with pain medicine.

    Yes, go to the ER -- call an ambulance or have someone drive you.
