Can you get more time added on to your probation?
If someone is already sentenced to 1 year and 6 months of probation, can the judge add more time to the probation if the person had violated?

They can make them go back to jail and serve the ENTIRE probation period all over again... no matter how long they were on probation before they violated.

But do you know if they can add more time to his probation? For example add 6 months more to what his original probation sentence was. Which was 1 year and 6 months then that would mean he would have to do 2 years on probation

That would depend on if the violation was another crime... or just a technical violation, even what that technical violation was..

A lot of that is at the mercy of the presiding judge.

    Hello f:

In answer to your question, the judge cannot ADD to a sentence because of a violation...

However, it's my guess that he had more time originally, and that time was SUSPENDED, based upon a satisfactory period on probation... Whatever that time is, the judge can impose it now.

So, you need to LOOK at the court record and see what took place.

excon is correct, you can for a new crime, get a new additional probation

You can be put in jail for the probation

And you can get any suspended time added back in.
