A few days before your period should place you outside your fertility window but it can happen. If you're now experiencing what seems like a normal period, then that's probably what it is. Have you been under a lot of stress lately? Have you gained or lost any weight? Have you been missing sleep? So many things can cause your period to fluctuate or change that it's hard to say whether you're pregnant.
But, like smoothy said, you need to take a test at the right time to be sure. First Response should work right after your missed period. However, getting a negative now won't mean much - the hormones that the test checks for might not have accumulated in your body to high enough levels yet for detection. You could always take one test now and then wait a couple of weeks. If you take those tests, get negatives but miss your next period then get a blood test done.
