My girlfriend told me she's pregnant one day after sex?
Is this possible? I don't live with her so she sent me a text. She said she tried two pregnancy tests and they both said that she was pregnant. Im somewhat of a pessimist so I think of the possibility of cheating(just a possibility, id like to avoid this thought for the moment though) Ive heard the earliest being around 6 days so how did she get readings so early? Ive never heard of someone knowing the very next day.

Do you now how pregnancy works? A day after sex the sperm wouldn't even have met the egg yet. In other words, she wouldn't even be pregnant until many days later. In other words, it's impossible. If she is pregnant, she didn't get pregnant from the sex you had the day before she tested.

I guess it was just wishful thinking I was hopping that there could be a possibility that I was wrong so know I see I was correct. Thank you for posting your comment.

I do have a question. I didn't fully read your other thread, but I see that she miscarried? When did she miscarry, and was the miscarriage confirmed?
The pregnancy hormone doesn't automatically leave your body after a miscarriage, or abortion. If she had a miscarriage recently, it could be that she's testing positive for pregnancy because the pregnancy hormone is not yet out of her system.

My concern is that the girlfriend seems to have any number of "stories" relating to pregnancy, and the OP doesn't seem to have a firm grasp on how pregnancy "works."
Is she lying? I don't know. Does OP have a sense she is? I guess so!

It was in January, and yes she told me it was confirmed .Sadly I was unable to be there for her when she went through this so I can only go off the info she told to me. The 1st miscarriage was close after she told me she was pregnant, then the day after she was pregnant 2 weeks later she had told me she had another miscarriage. So its somewhat confusing, because what you say makes sense but the part about the false reading goes out the window when she tells me she had another miscarriage.

Sadly I want to but I don't think I do. Its just that I've been nothing but good to her and I really care about her but at the same time I'm trying to think with a clear mind. Maybe I've been giving her the benefit of the doubt too much.

Sorry to say it but I think you're girlfriend is lying - about all of it. First, no doctor would tell a woman that she should not get pregnant if she has endometriosis (as per your other string). Pregnancy is actually GOOD for women with endometriosis because it stops the monthly cycle.
Second, a pregnancy would not "tear up" a woman's uterus if she has endometriosis. That is ridiculous. Endometriosis can create some scar tissue over time that can be a complication and cause a miscarriage, but it's basically just a case of the endometrial tissue not all being properly shed from the body - some stays behind and forms around various organs and places it doesn't belong like the falopian tubes, bowel cavity and the like. It doesn't cause the uterus to disolve or thin or explode from pregnancy or whatever else this woman made up. If the endometriosis is out of control, surgery is normally performed. A hystosalpingogram can be done to clean out the falopian tubes if they are blocked. A dilation/curetage can be used to scrape out the uterus and remove excess buildup of endometrial tissue. Laser procedures can be done to remove and loosen adhesions and unwanted tissue build up outside of the uterus. I've had all these procedures so know what I'm talking about.
The pregnancy story is also ridiculous. There's no way a woman knows the day after sex that she is pregnant. As others have pointed out, before you can get a positive pregnancy test result several things have to happen. First, it can take a couple days for the egg to be fertilized by the sperm - they have to find each other. Then, the fertilized egg has to make it into the uterus. Then it has to implant in the uterine wall. Only then is the body signaled to produce a hormone called HcG which is also called the "pregnancy hormone". It's not like an off/on switch - it builds up in the system over time. In fact, it's not detectable by pregnancy test for about two weeks after conception and for some women, it's longer before she gets a positive result. A doctor cannot confirm pregnancy after one day either. Otherwise, when I went through extensive fertility treatments like in-vitro fertilization, all conducted by fertility specialists, they would have been able to tell me if I was pregnant. Nope - it took two weeks to give me a heads up whether it worked or not.
Your girlfriend is a liar. This is my guess: I think she is pregnant by another man. I think she manufactured a story to tell you that she can't get pregnant so that you would risk pregnancy with her. She doesn't know who the real dad is, or she doesn't like the guy who's the real dad, or she just thinks you're a good sucker to pin the financial responsibility on. Now the plan is that she'll be all surprised... "Oh, my God, they said I couldn't get pregnant! I was given such bad medical care! I know I wasn't pregnant at such and such a time - remember, they said I miscarried? They must have the date wrong because I've only been with you, so I have to be earlier in the pregnancy than they said". The lies will continue. She'll have a baby and claim it's premature even if it's bigger than a Thanksgiving turkey - "wow - I'm not sure how I could have a 9 pound premie- God works in mysterious ways!" I'm predicting that for the next act in her pregnancy play, she will claim to have maternal diabetes because that can cause the baby to be bigger than normal at birth - it will be her explanation to you about why her so called "premature" baby is on the large side of normal for full-term.
If she's not pregnant, she has pregnancy fantasies and/or is using all these stories to get attention from you.
In any event - she's goofy as hell and you need to leave her at the curb.

Agreed and lately she's been treating me like crap for no reason, things have really gotten out of hand and now I see I need to end it with her because I kept getting this feeling that something was wrong but I just didn't know what it was. For now on I'm sticking with my gut on things. I just can't believe she would lie like that(anyone for that matter). But it isn't impossible. So I'm definitely taking your advice and kicking her to the curb, because I definitely don't deserve this. Thanks.

When you dump her, do me a favor and say this to her "OMG, we had sex and then a day later you found out you were pregnant? Wow! We need to call the news, we need to call the guiness book of world records, because you're the only woman in the entire world that gets a positive pregnancy test the day after sex! This really is amazing, and scientifically impossible! The world must know", and then say "NOT!" :)
Sorry, I'm vindictive. I'd really want her to know that she's been caught in all her lies. But that's me. You don't have to stoop to my level, I just think it would be great if someone told this liar that she's busted. The sad fact is, she's not even a good liar. If you're going to lie you at least have to make it believable. Sigh.
Good luck to you. You sound like a nice guy, and you deserve a nice girl. This girl isn't good enough for you. Kick her to the curb and find someone worthy of a nice guy like you. Okay?

No where have you said, this was the one and only time you have had sex with her. Was it? She certainly could be pregnant. But if she is, then it was NOT from the sex you had with her the previous day.
Is she lying to you? I can't tell that either. She could be pregnant from an earlier sexual encounter. She could also be getting false positives due to the recent miscarriage. So there is a possibility she isn't lying about testing positive.
The only thing we can tell you for sure, is that she did not become pregnant from the previous night's encounter.

Good point, and something I was going to ask, but I assumed (dangerous thing to do) that the OP wouldn't be questioning if she's lying, if there had been earlier sexual episodes which would lead to the positive pregnancy test now.
Considering that he had to confirm that a positive pregnancy test the day after sex isn't legit, I guess I should have asked if this was the only time they've had sex, if it's possible that she got pregnant from an earlier sexual encounter with him.

It was not the first time(it was the first time that month) Okay try to bear with me here okay. When I first met her She was pregnant(which I didn't even know at first) We had unprotected sex I assumed she was going to get pregnant( but she eneded up telling me she found out she was pregnant) told me later that day she had a miscarriage too. So I didn't know if she could get pregnant after miscarrying while there is semen in her. I know that there was a slight possibility that she could have gotten pregnant from that but its slight. Then That's when we had sex the next month and this is when she says"im pregnant" the day after sex. I apologize if this is a little confusing let me know if you need clarification.

It's very confusing.
Are you saying that the first time the two of you had sex, she was already pregnant (obviously you must realize you weren't the father of this baby if she was already pregnant the first time you two had sex).
She then had a miscarriage, and you thought that since you two had sex while she was pregnant, and then she miscarried later that day, that she could get pregnant again from having sex with you before her miscarriage? Not possible, not even a slight chance.
So you've had sex two times? Is that what you're saying? The first time she was pregnant with someone else's child, then miscarried later that day, after you two had sex. Then she claimed she was pregnant again and had a second miscarriage, and you assumed she got pregnant when you had sex while she was already pregnant, because she miscarried that day? The second time you had sex she told you the day after that she was pregnant?
If this is the case, kiddo, you really need to learn how pregnancy works so that you can't be fooled in the future. If my account of what you wrote, which was very confusing, is wrong, please correct it. :)
Wow!
