My 2002 hyundai accent is missing out really bad . I have been told it's the transmission going bad. I do not hear any noises or anthing from it. The check engine light comes on, but goes out after starting the car several times. It misses when accelerating or taking off from a full stop. I changed the fuel pump
The mechanic said had low fuel pressure, but that fuel pump was a year old. He changed a couple of sensors around the transmission area. Still running bad.
Before I took it to this mehanic I took it to auto zone they told me it was fuel module that was bad. He insisited it was the fuel pump. Another thing I notice, when filling the car with gas the gas pump won't let put me gas in. it keeps stopping every second. Seems like fumes are stopping the gas pump. Could this make the miss out. Thanks

First step is seeing what the computer tells you... if that light comes on there are codes that need read.

Nobody can guess until we know what they are.

Thanks the check engine light goes off after I start the car once or twice.and it only comes on when the car misses for a while while driving. Sometimes it misses once or twice then it starts driving good but only at slow speed then the check engine don't turn on. I will have it checked out if I can keep that light on . Thanks

The light doesn't have to be on... it stores them for a certain number of starts after it registered... in fact if it keeps coming on and going off fairly frequently like every day or so... there should be a code in it now. Lit or not.
