    Deworming dogs
Hi! I Just adopted a puppy. He's an Aussie, Heeler, collie mix. 9 weeks old. Born JAN. 10
Had visible flees, treated him with a flee shampoo. No more visible flees.
But he is pooping "SOFT SERVE" like FECES. It had a little BLOOD in it, but not much and it was really light. There was little RICE LOOKING PARTICLES IN HIS POOP too. His past owners said he ate diamond puppy chow, I couldn't find it at the store so I got a different cheaper brand. So after research I thought the blood was from CHANGE OF DIET. But the rice like particles resembled what I read to be a PARASITE OR WORM.
He is active for the most part, seems happy. Loves to snuggle, and chew his bone. HE IS INDOOR accept when we take him on the leash to poop/pee and go on walks. But at times seems really REALLY TIRED, maybe that's just from playing. His belly looks POT BELLY LIKE. He has a bit of a SNEEZE not all the time but about 5-10 times a day, starting yesterday. We've only had him for 3 day.s. I gave him a dewormer today. "WORM AWAY 7& VETSCRIPTION." I gave him ONE PILLl because he is 6 pounds. I hope I did the right thing. I don't get paid for two weeks and Couldn't AFFORD A VET. This was unexpected. The lady I saved him from said he had I quote, "5 WAY PUPPY SHOT ON 3-2-13. & WORMED WITH SAFEGUARD ON 2-20-13, 3-2-13, & 3-16." so I thought I had a healthy pup. Obviously I don't. PLEASE HELP!

DID I DO THE RIGHT TREATMENT!
    HELP PLEASE!

I think the deworming should work. A "pot belly" is pretty typical of worms especially in puppies. But, if it doesn't work or if the blood becomes excessive, or he becomes apathetic you need to take him to the vet ASAP.

Puppies are quite susceptible to viruses like parvo which can cause blood in stool and can become deadly very quickly. The worms could also cause severe problems if they're not gotten rid of appropriately.

Either way, I would take the dog to the vet as soon as you can afford it because based on what you've said about his condition (fleas, worms, etc... ) he has never seen a proper vet, which is VERY important for his well-being.

You might also want to check the dog food- they just recalled a few brands (again... )

You probably know I took my dog to the vet 3 days ago, and she had him dewormed. Just now, he just started pooping worms everywhere! So if he pooped the worms out, does that mean the deworming worked, or that he still has worms? Should I have him dewormed again?
