For the past several weeks I have experienced a clogged feeling in my left ear
For the past several weeks I have experienced a clogged feeling in my left ear. As a result, hearing out of the affected ear is muffled. Also, when I am walking and I put pressure on my left foot, I hear a slight, muffled "pop" or "thht" sound in the ear. Sometimes when I am standing still and I move my head in any direction, I'll hear a muffled "rubbing" sound. Up until several months ago, I have had no problems with this ear. It seems to have started after I am having fever and cold cough.

Sounds like fluid behind the ear drum, but only your doctor can tell you that for sure.
Please make an appointment with your doctor for a proper diagnosis.

My mom had experienced something similar to what you are and she had went to the doctor and they told her to get clean out her ear. They told her to get this ear cleaning kit that comes with one of those suction things (like they use to suck out snot from baby's noses) and a solution. You put the solution in your ear and let it sit for like a minute or something then suck it out. When she did it there was a big chunk of ear wax that had come out. She said that her ear felt much better afterwards.

Dangerous advice.
Your mom's issue was diagnosed by a doctor, as it should have been. Telling the OP (original poster) to follow the diagnosis given to your mom, is dangerous. You have no idea if the OP is suffering from the same thing your mom suffered from.
The only advice that's valid is for the OP to see his/her doctor. Diagnosing, especially a second hand diagnosis, is not okay.

Yes, also, this is dangerous advice. For example, this is not how ear cleaning kits are meant to be used.
The safe and proper way to use the kit or do it on ones own is that you gently drop either hydrogen peroxide or ear cleaning solution from a kit into the ear. You lay down and let it sit without dripping out for a few minutes. Then, you use the bulb syringe by filling it with warm water, and, leaning over a sink, gently squirting the warm water into the ear to flush it out. It it not forced into the ear and should be gentle. It's not used to "suck" anything out of the ear.
When you have pressure or other signs of a possible infection, you need to go to the doctor and get proper advice. It could be a backup of wax, or could be water behind the ear drum which is common when infection is present. This would respond to antibiotics.
