    New Pope
Is he a Franciscan or a Jesuit. I know one is a teacher and the other helps the poor? Could he be both??

He is a Jesuit from South America; not a Franciscan. Why does it matter. It will hope he will bring positive changes.

He is a Jesuit who has done a lot for the poor.
The Vatican is sitting on countless cellars of riches beyond what we can imagine, not to mention what they have in their bank.
Maybe this Pope will change some fat cat attitudes.

Would not be both, Jesuit's also do work in many fields, I knew several who worked in Canon Law. It has to do with order they take their vows. I would be interested to knowing if he has to be released from the vows of order to be Pope
