I took the lint trap apart to clean it there were two wires attached from dryer to lint trap they fell inside the dryer I am unable to reach them easily are they important? What r they used for? Everything seems to be working all right

My Kenmore dryer turns itself off after less than 5 minutes of run time. It doesn't matter which cycle I have selected, I have tried unplugging it and then plugging it back in after waiting as much as an hour. Nothing seems to help. Any ideas?
Our Kenmore gas dryer is taking much longer than normal to dry the clothes. I have cleaned out the vent tube but it did not help. There is a clunking noise when you put lint screen in, that was not there when we purchased the dryer. Any ideas
