    Fibroids and cysts--concerned
I was told that I have a complex cyst on my left ovary that is 2.46 cm. I also have 2 fibroids were in the wall of the uterus, one extending past the surface, that are each 2-4cm in size. I have several issues related to this such as pain during intercourse, pelvic pressure, frequent urination. My OB wants to follow up in a few months but I am wondering if I should seek a second opinion. Any thoughts?

I recently watched a TV lecture by a fibroids specialist, on the latest advances.
But the whole basis of the topic was that there is so much variety in the condition that treatment can't be generalized. And you don't want to rush to operate, because that can be problematic.
I think it is part of the process to gauge the status over a few months to measure growth, shrinkage, or staying the same.

So I would say that you should get a second opinion if you feel that your doctor isn't listening to your description of discomfort and pain, but if he or she is attentive, then I would wait for the next measurements and any changes in how you feel.
