Only remembered me her first born and I was the only one of her 3 children she raised herself, the other kids were raised by their father. To make it short I was going through adivorce and my sisters 3rd husband died so she came to moms aid (so to speak). Our stepfather was still alive but mom had been taking care of him for20 yrs. Due to a stroke. Then suddenly (after my sister asking how she could become Power of Atty. She magically gets Fred (stepfather) a Drivers License after 20 yrs. Of not driving! 2 days later he dies in a car accident (she said he was going to get tires).So, consequently she becomes Power of Atty.! She then wipes out all savings meant to be split between all of us, gets a new car"Volvo" of course!Lil miss status queen! During all of this we just thought she was "caring" for mom. After my divorce, I came to see mom and the whole house was remodeled non of mom's things were here anymore, which is the worst thing to do is change the familiar things she knows. Well, she got the house in her name (which mom would never do any of these things if in her right mind, now, I have back living here permanently for almost 6 yrs. She let my brother put his name on the deed shortly after he moved in in 2007.Now I get a SSDI check so I pay half of everything, including property taxes. My brother pays nothing at all even though they have a written contract drawn up when his name was added. She won't agree to add my name because I have 2 grown Children & a boyfriend.I have a Declaration of Domicile to protect me if I ever moved out, I can come back. But what other rights do I have? How can I have my name on the deed? This is in BOYNTON BEACH,FL My mom would never have wanted this for me, she was all the family I had and more, I miss her so much! This really hurts me. She divorced their dad because he was mean to me and to her and his kids are just as bad! I am 56 yrs and can't even have my kids come visit me because it such a uncomfortable atmosphere. PLEASE HELP ME!! I don't know what to do I don't have much money! |

Florida has some strong laws about elder abuse. I would report this to them:
Florida Department of Elder Affairs - Home Get an investigator to look into it. I would also retain an attorney to protect your interests. You will need to prove undue influence to get any of mom's assets. |
