    Lost parental rights
    My son was taken from me because of abuse to me and neglect of him 13 yrs ago. He's now 16 and they say I have to pay support.

    You need to provide a lot more info. First, ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area. We also need to know why your son was taken from you, what court action was involved. Who was given custody? Also who is "they" that say you have to pay support. And any other background that might help us help you.

    I am from nyc my 3yr old son was taken from me for domestic abuse and neglect. He is now 16 he lives with his aunt in Suffolk County. She has custody. The court says I have to pay support even though she didn't apply for it.

    Where is the father? Has the Aunt applied for public assistance? Did a court award her custody?

    No the aunt didn't apply for public asst. And the father lives in queens ny working off the books yes the court gave custody

    Hmm So you need to get a copy of the court order for support and find out who originated it. It didn't just come into being on its own.
