    BX and Romex
    By code, can BX and Romex be used in can box?

    Certainly. As long as proper grounding is done.

    Well, NM cables' grounds should be spliced in any box. Metal boxes must also have a connection to the box.

    MC cables' grounds should be spliced in a metal box and must also have a connection to the box.

    AC/BX must use appropriate connectors in a metal box.

    My daughter had an extension put on house and electrician told her could not use BX and Romex in same box. Made her change whole house to BX.

    Thanks. Been doing it right and didn't know it.
