How to restore the sounds on the computer in Windows XP Professional?
My HP computer has Windows XP Professional Operating System. I might accidentally remove the audio component when uninstallation of some downloaded programs by the Add and Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Now I cannot see the speaker icon in the notification area of the taskbar. Neither can I hear any sound. I do not want to reinstall the Windows XP. I do not know how to check the audio driver is missing or not in the Windows XP Professional. Do you know how to restore the sounds on the HP computer as well as the speaker icon in the notification area in the Windows XP Professional? Thank you for your answer.

Go to HP's website and download the drivers for your model PC.

HP Support & Drivers | United States

Select the audio or sound drivers and install them. Should fix it.

I've recxently installed Windows XP on my computer. With WIndows 98 I had an automatic shutdown feature. When I shut down my computer it automatically shut the power off. With XP this doesn't happen and I have to manually shut the power off. Is there a way to get XP to do what 98 did?
