    Tn resident employed in ky
    I live in tn and work all over ky and tn my employer takes individual county taxes out of my check weekly as many as 6 different counties a week and when working in tn we still pay ky income taxes. For 18 yrs my previous employer did not we worked in all states

    Unfortunately for you, what your employer is legally correct.

    All states and most localities (counties and cities) require those who work within their jurisdiction pay income taxes on the wages earned inside their jusrisdictions.

    Most people get relieve by claiming a credit on their state income tax, but since Tennessee has NO state income tax om wages, you cannot claim such a credit.
