If you have an open warrant out anyplace in the country... you aren't getting a license.. nor should you.

If its suspended anywhere in the country... they won't give you one nor should they.

THey days where you could run to another state to hide... are long since over. They talk to each other these days with databases for this sort of thing.

You may also face penalties if you fail to disclose the problem from the first state, on any forms you are required to complete in the other state.

Does "lose" mean "can't find" or does it mean "police took it"?

Doesn't really matter... with an open warrant... he's not getting one.

Not all charges result in a loss of license.

Not all crimes are fully extraditeable.

I have had criminal warrants for people who moved out if state and as long as they didn't return... they were untouchable. The issue of extradition is an issue of cost. Is it worth it to haul someone back a great distance for a particular charge ?

    That is the unknown factor.

If his license was suspended for any reason... no state will give him one... if he's got a warrant nobodies going to help him by giving him one... but I agree... they may or may not hold or extradite him depending on the charge and if the state that issued it will pay the expenses.

But that warrant will always be hovering over his head until he deals with it... they NEVER expire.

If they picked up someone today on charges I filed three years ago ( and I retired at the end if 2011) , they aren't going to call me back unless it was a serious charge and both myself and the victim are available.

Warrants don't really last forever. In Pa , DV can be a summary , misdemeanor or a felony. Probably a felony would last a while , a misd. Maybe 10 years and a summary about 3 years before they would get purged.
