So I think I may have come on too strong with a girl I like. We've been dating for around a month and I've started to like her a lot. In short, I ended up getting very drunk and texting her telling her I thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world... Yes I know, cringe, but I meant it. She seems to have taken it OK but ended up flaking on our arranged date because she was ill. I tried to salvage the situation by telling her I hoped it wasn't too much the next day, she mentioned that it was cute but I think I may have pushed her away. I signed off by saying I hoped to see her sometime this week and she said the same. However, I don't know how to move forward from this. Any suggestions?

Get to know her and allow her to get to know you. You may not have impressed her by showing her you got drunk. Maybe she doesn't care for that side of you. If a relationship is going to develop, allow it to develop without rushing it. If you rush it you won't know if you two want the same thing out of the relationship.

Try talking to her... face to face or on the phone. Don't use text to explain away your stupid move. Texting and email don't convey messages the same way as personal communication.

If I should name one - and only one - thing that attracts people, I would say confidence. No matter what you did before, you still have time to "fix" it - and the best way to do so is not trying to fix it.

What you did isn't wrong, the timing probably was but now it's done and there's nothing you can do about it. So stop beating yourself up and just be yourself. There must be a reason she talked to you in the first place. Let her get to know you. Relax and be confident. Good luck! :)
