    Used Murry
    I pyrchased a used 14hp 42" cut rider 2 weeks ago.
The seller told me had put a new belt on blade deck
I used it for about 3 hours nad belt came off, I put back on and it came off again approx 30 min later and it got cut.
I have bought a new belt and put it on Sunday and it started to burn and then broke.
What could be my problem?Any good advise is greatly appreciated

The idler pulley is probably bad or frozen. It is the pulley that puts tension on the belt. It is important that the belt be original equipment, parts store belts may be the right length but have a different cut to them.

Idler pulley can be a problem, also I just worked on one of that type and someone had the belt tensioner wrong and also the belt guides were wrong! Do you have the 'Pulley brake" on it?
    Hope it helps!
