    What do you think of this name?
    We are thinking of calling our girl Arohinga Vera. What does anybody think of this name combination?
    My wife is Maori (hence the Arohinga) and my grandma was called Vera.

    We live in New Zealand, in Rotorua, a predominantly Maori area so having a Maori name wouldn't be a big issue.

    It would be pronounced Arrow - hing - a

    I'm in the US. Not really a fan of the name as many people where I live wouldn't have a clue as to how to pronounce it, let alone the cruel children who may make fun of it.

    But that may be a cultural difference.

    I'm not a huge fan of it, but it's your choice. You can't make everyone happy. Choose a name that you love, that has meaning to you.

    I totally agree with Alty. If it has meaning to you that's what's important.
