    Application for dual french/american citizenship
Hi. I am a 52 year old American. I am interested in knowing if I can apply for a French citizenship. My grandfather was born in France and my great-grandparents were also born in France. I do not currently live in France. Can I apply for citizenship while living in the USA based on my grandfather's birth in France? I still have many French family members in France.

A person wishing french citizenship, from another country, must first live in France for five years and speak french, own property, and be integrated into a community. In other words, no 'french ways'. When you fulfill this, then you can apply, until then no.
