    Craftsman mower will not engage
    Can someone tell me if the electric cluch turns with the mower deck off.
    My mower sears tractor stopped engageing replace the electric cluch with new one and before I remount the mower I would like to know if the cluch will work.\Thanks

    Hi,
    Should be easy enough; sit on the seat and turn the switch to On(do not start the engine and have the noise interfere) and flip the switch to PTO switch on, should hear a clunk, or loud click, of the clutch going to the engaged position.

    Thanks for your help I did what you said and nothen clicked the cluch switch and battary new. Is theia something else I can do.

    Hi,
    Sounds like you are not getting 12V to the clutch. If you have or have access to a VOM or DVM, check to make sure you have voltage reaching the switch and exiting the switch(when On.) Occasionally Sears uses the ground circuit in their wiring schemes in unusual ways, but I would need the model number to try to find the schematic.
