Adoption-want to find my birthmother Heather Brewer.
Looking for Heather Brewer would be turning 39 this year

If I was born on March 24 1992 and it was a closed adoption how would I be able to find my birth mother. My adoptive parents will only tell me she was 18 and her name is Heather Brewer I don't know any other information.

I was born March 24 1992 in Kennestone Hospital. I have red hair blue eyes and a lot of freckles. I am about to be 21 years old. She was 18 when she had me. I know from my adoptive parents that Heather's grandmother lived about three miles from us when we lived in Avondele Estates. Well now I have a kid of my own. Just yesterday he turned nine months old. I want her to meet me, and her grandson. Please help me because my adoption was closed.

I find that name and location, correct age (from what you say) - this is all the info you have?

My concern is - why don't your adoptive parents want you to find her?

The most likely candidate used to live in Macon, has moved, has a new address outside of Georgia. Do you have any other info at all?

No I don't and they don't like it when I bring up being adopted

Not to rain on your parade but maybe your birth mom doesn't want to be found. It happens despite high hopes to the contrary and you must be prepared for this. I can also see why your adoptive parents would fear losing you, and your son from there lives and hope you have reassured them that's this isn't the case.

Because so many adoptions from 1992 were either open or semi-open, I am surprised that yours was closed. It makes me wonder if your adoptive parents have REASONS for not discussing it with you---although you are an adult and should be able to hear those reasons.

In either case, your best bets are the following:

    1. Register on reunion websites. If your birthmother is also looking, you will find each other best that way.
    2. Give your contact information to the adoption agency used. Ask if your birthmother has left contact information with them for you.

Or... you can press your adoptive parents for answers. Please realize that not all reunions are happy, and not all birthmothers want to be found. If you DO find her through any means besides a reunion website, be VERY sure to use a third party for initial contact, and be willing to honor her wishes if she does not want a reunion.
