What is voltage at alternator? Bypassing the regulator may damage the wiring.

The charging system on your truck uses the Engine Control Module (ECM) to regulate charging system voltage. Bypassing that isn't a viable option.
Are you certain the charging system isn't functioning due to the regulator? There are some other things that need to work right for the ECM to do it's job properly.

If the truck didn't run properly but the charging system functioned, the replacement ECM needs to be programmed to the truck's engine option. (What engine is in your truck?)
OR, the original ECM needs repaired, if possible, and then reinstalled into the vehicle.

You need an appropriate scan tool capable of two-way data transfer and a subscription to the program data base with the manufacturer.
Most times when you replace the ECM, those things will be required to ensure proper engine operation for your engine and vehicle's security needs.
