Hi.
I my birth control pills pack ended about 2 weeks ago. The day after I took my last pill I had unprotected sex. One day during the last 2 weeks a had a tiny bit of bleeding only once. I have not yet received my period. I have been cramping a lot though, as if I'm on my period. Do you think I could be pregnant??

Yes, of course - any time you have sex, protected or unprotected, you run the risk of pregnancy. No birth control is 100% effective.

I took a test and it came out negative but everyone is telling me that's because its too soon for me to test. How soon can I test?

It's possible but not probable.

You'll have to wait until after a missed period (most recommend two weeks, some tests claim to work after one), use first morning urine which would have the most concentrated levels of HcG (the pregnancy hormone) if you are pregnant.

If you're planning to get pregnant you should talk to your doctor before you risk pregnancy again. Most typically want you to wait a few months after you go off the pill and they also generally recommend you start living as if you're pregnant - taking prenatal vitamins, cutting alcohol and cigarettes and so on - when you begin trying, as you could actually be pregnant before you know you are pregnant.

You first of all need to read the directions on the package, which always tell you exactly when and how to test. That said, to get the best result, when you miss a period, wait two more weeks. Then test using first morning urine.
