If you wanted to know the answer to your pet question, especially if your pet was in labor, you should not have waited around here to get an answer. My first call would have been to my vet to find out what was going on, and possibly taking her in if ou felt she was in jeopardy.

You knew your dog was expecting, and you did nothing to find out what you had to do, and what you should have known.

I too am not happy about this post. You're obviously a backyard breeder, as a real breeder wouldn't have to ask this question.

If you come back and tell us you can't go to the vet because you can't afford it, be prepared, you won't like what we have to say.

Bottom line, you bred this dog, that means that her life, and the lives of these puppies, are in your hands. You should have at least $5000 put aside to deal with any situation that arises. Chihuahua's are notorious for requiring c-sections when delivering, because of their size.

Go to the vet immediately! That's your only option. If your dog needs a c-section, pay the extra money to have her spayed while they have her opened up.

If he's even just a bigger Chihuahua this little girl will have trouble. Heck, even a same sized or smaller Chihuahua. Chi's are very small, and often have trouble when they give birth. Many of them end up needing a c-section, which can end up costing thousands of dollars.

This is something the OP should have researched before she bred her dog, but sadly, backyard breeders rarely do any research, until it's too late. :(

Yes, please immediately take your dog to the vet. She should not be lethargic and the puppies may be too large or numerous for her to deliver on her own. This is life-threatening for your dog and her puppies. The activity of the puppies is encouraging. But don't let that poor dog suffer - get a blanket, carry her to the car and get her to the vet immediately. Please let us know how this worked out.
