Where did you get that phrase from? This is not medieval times when nobles would have their way with peasant girls and then decline to acknowledge the offspring.
There are laws that cover paternity and support of children. He cannot force you to abort the child or give it up for adoption. However, since you say you can't afford to raise the child, I would suggest that you give serious consideration to adoption (its too late for abortion).
The law requires that a father support his child. But you can do nothing about support until the child is born. Once born, you apply for public assistance. They will usually help you file for child support from the father. If he denies paternity, the courts will require that he take a paternity test to establish paternity. If the tests shows him to be the father, the court will issue a support order based on his income. If he doesn't pay his salary will be garnished.
A word of warning here, father can avoid paying. They can disappear, work under the table, etc to try and other things to avoid paying. I don't know how important his job is to him.
Also note, that if you force him to pay support he may try to get custody from you. Ignore such threats as the court is unlikely to give him sole custody over you. But he can force visitation.
