    Frozen pipes.
    OR
Town shut water off either because bills not paid (rare that they actually shut it off) or work is being down down the street. Where I live, an automated phone call is sent out, or a note left on my door.

I'm no well guy (city boy here), but Jlisenbe, hkstroud, Ma0641 and even Tom know tons about this stuff! For now, check for power at the breaker/fuse panel and make sure that power is getting to the pump to start... report back.

I went down into the well house and didn't find the pump so think it's submersible but I found pipes leading underground and had a valve on it and I turned it and water came out

How many pipes going down the well?
You must have a tank inside somewhere.
Need to find that. There should be a pressure gauge there. There should also be a pump pressure switch.
    Check breaker in electric panel.
If breaker is not tripped tell us what pressure gauge reads.

No water coming out of bathtub hot water faucet, but everywhere else in house is OK [ 8 Answers ]

During the night of January 24, our water pipes froze. To make a long story short, the city came by, did something and seemed to have fixed our issue. But we later realized that we have no water coming out of the upstairs bathtub hot water faucet. When we turn on the water, there is maybe a tiny...

Air coming out of only on faucet? [ 1 Answers ]

We recently had an abnormal cold spell. The hose bib on the outside froze but that was it. There was running water inside the house. Now the hose bib is releasing air (I'm sure it is not intaking air) and a small drbble of water. I have let it run for a long period and still air is escaping. There...

No water coming out of faucet [ 2 Answers ]

I turned off the inside water valve so I could remove an old water softening unit. I capped off the compressed pipes and then turned the valve back on. No water is coming out of our faucets! I have left two of them open. It's 40 degrees outside, and 8:23 pm, so I don't think it's frozen. Where...

Dirt Coming Out Of Faucet [ 6 Answers ]

Hi. I have noticed dirt coming out of my bathtub faucet. If you run water for a bath, when it is done draining out, there is dirt left behind. Also today, I had the water in my kitchen faucet coming out brown for a little bit (no dirt) but that was for just a little while. Does anyone know what...

My husband turned off the water in the kitchen to work on our hot water heater. When he turned the water back on in the whole house, the kitchen no longer had running water.
