They can die. Treat the mother with a vial of drops of Frontline or Advantage, and shampoo the pups for a good 5 minutes each, with either straight flea shampoo or a tiny bit of warm water added, in your sink, and rinse well. Or take them all to a vet or animal care place.

PS: You and your beds and whole house have or will have fleas too, so you also have to get a flea 'bomb' for each room. AND do a lot of washing afterwards. AND you might have to repeat in about 3 weeks.

Newborn pups with fleas should be seen by a vet. Don't just run out and put flea/tick drops on the mother dog or them. Most flea/tick shampoos are not designed for puppies under 8wks of age.

You should really call your vet for their expert advise on what to do.

Don't know how old the pups are, so bathing them not good advice If they are newborn.

As a second thought, you never ever put flea medication on a nursing dog. Nursing pups would ingest the flea medication and it would be lethal.

We have to be so careful what we say here regarding pups and moms. We have to realize that what we say may be taken as truth and some people may carry through with it with devastating results.

There ARE some flea medications that are safe for nursing dogs. ONLY ones you can get through your vet, though. So, take them there.
