    Anesthesia awareness phobia!
I am undergoing a procedure soon that requires general anesthesia, but am terrified that I will be in the tiny percentage of people who remain awake yet paralyzed. I had surgery 20 yrs ago and responded appropriately to being put under, does this mean I always will?

I have never heard of what you fear. Have you talked with the anesthesiologist yet?

There is about 100 reported cases a year out of 20 million operations. Of that 100 several are considered false from the type of memory, others merely have some slight memory of the event. There appears to be none where they felt the pain but only appear to remember what happened in the room
