    Pacemaker/Defibrillator Problems
I have access to an excellent Cardiac Clinic but it is not open weekends or holidays. How do I know when I should go to the Emergency Room at such times? I have an alarm that goes off in the evening if fluid levels have reached/passed an optimal level signalling heart failure and directions to take additional medications but there are times when I have the symptoms of CHF but my alarm does not go off. Recently when this happened it turned out that a lead in an upper chamber of my heart was not functioning properly. This was corrected but this week the symptoms seem to have returned and this weekend worsened. When I went shopping today, I was extremely out of breath and now a few hours later, although my breath has returned to normal after sitting quietly, my chest is aching, I believe my lungs, and I have been coughing a lot.

The best place for you is that cardiac facility; today is Monday and not a holiday anywhere that I know of. Where do you live ? Do they not have an emergency number being a cardiac facility ?

Go to your nearest ER if you can't reach this facility.

Thanks for your reply - I've been so mixed up today with the discomfort I was thinking it was Sun! It's time to get on the phone before they close - they don't have an emergency number which is strange.
