Movie starts with a bunch of civilians leaving a train at a remote outpost. Drill sergeant makes a platoon do complicated drill then berates the civilians. Movie follows them through basic training until the end scene is the same as the start but the civvies are the soldiers, and a new bunch of civvies arrive.
