    Why does my heat pump screech
    Loud heat pump. My heat pump make a squeeling noise when the temperature is close to 32 f. when I turn the system to emergency heat it does not make any unusual noises.

    I might have answered my own question. A change in heat/ pressure of returning coolant to the compressor might have caused the an imbalance between the high side and low side of the compressor.
