    Hampton Bay Fan Light Intermittent
    My light on my Hampton Bay celing fan comes on by itself intermittenly. Can anyone help?

    How old is the fan? It has a "short" in it somewhere, most likely in the pull cord switch. If it's new, you might consider taking it back and exchanging it. If it isn't new, an electrician might be able to fix it, or consider buying a new one.

    Does it come on by itself with switch off?

    What type of lamp is installed?

    The light comes on with the remote light button off. I can turn light off with remote once it comes on. I see there is a function for a timer for the light but I have no user manual. Not sure if this is the problem. I took batteries out of remote and light still comes on.
