I have recently got a 14 month old husky
She is continuously trying to escape from the backyard, so sadly we have had to connect two chains to a pole and to her collar for when we are not in the backyard, not home and at night.
So when we are home and she is chained up, same at night she is always whining none stop.
I am unsure if it is because she has not been desexed yet or if it's because she has a new home (which is what I'm starting to think).
I'm unsure of what I can do to help her and I do really what to help her of course, so if anyone has any ideas as what to do tom help that would be awesome and much appreciated. :)

Hi purple, why is she not in the house with you ? Or is she, and I am reading your post wrong. It looks like she is out in the yard chained up all night, and day. Not judging, just asking.

Probably the reason why she is whining all the time; huskies are working dogs, therefore need plenty of interaction, play and walking. Pretty intelligent as well, so she probably knows what is happening to her, and that probably is loneliness and frustration, ergo, trying to run away.

I would love to have a husky, I so admire their intelligence and stamina and know a couple of people in my area who sled race them. Huskies live for the snow and racing. It is what they do best aside from being wonderful companions.

I don't necessarily like to hear that dogs are chained up in backyards, so humour me and tell me that she does come in the house once in a while to be with her new people.

You have to give her a chance to adjust to a new environment, perhaps get her spayed because if she is not, at l4 months old, males will find her when she comes in heat no matter what.

Maybe a Huskie isn't for you. A life on a chain, even if she can go back and forth on it, is no life for that poor dog. Are you sure you wanted her?
Spaying has nothing to do with her whining unless she is in heat and in the receptive stage and there are males nearby. She's lonely and missing her need to run. I hope you can either find her a new home (I too wish I had her!) or take her out a lot more to run, and bring her in the house for love and hugs and play.
