    Puppy
I gave my 7wk old puppy a bath on Tuesday and on Wednesday I noticed that she has a rash on her stomach and in her ears. I'm wondering if she had an allergic reaction to the puppy shampoo that I used or if it could be aomething else. The rash doesn't seem to bother her. If anyone knows anything them please help.

    Thank you,

It could be so many different things, there is no way anybody here could say for sure. It could even be failing to rinse all the shampoo out. In general dogs seldom need baths if fed a good chow and brushed regularly. A 7 week old should be in for a check up and shots soon. Ask about the rash then.

I am glad you called your vet on this. So many people don't. I have a feeling it might be from not rinsing the shampoo as thoroughly as you had thought you did. Happens to the best of us sometimes. As labman suggests, make sure that you set up all the subsequent appointments for her shots. It is important to stick to the schedule the vet has laid out.

I took my puppy to the vet on Saturday and the rash happened to be normal. He said it was her immune system getting used to the atmosphere they gave me a aloe/oatmeal shampoo and her rash is gone.

When is a puppy not a puppy anymore? [ 3 Answers ]

Our Lhasa is now 10 months old. As a puppy we have had food available pretty much at all times, but maybe he's getting past that now, and for his weight should maybe only be fed about a cup to a cup and a half of his dog meal a day. We have been using Wysong, by the way, and it seems to have a...
