    Tax Amendments
I recently found out that my husband and I didn't get credit for the EIC last year. Our taxes were done online. Is there a way I can amend them myself instead of going somewhere and paying a lot of money?

Call the IRS and ask. I would think you could file an amended return to correct your oversight.

You definitely CAN amend the return to collect the EIC for tax years 2003 (must be filed by 15 April 2007), 2004, 2005 and 2006.

If it's for 2002 or earlier, it's too late.
