Samsung toslink cable does not seem to fit. Cover is off
I pulled a toslink cable out of the back of our TV set to rearrange some wiring in the cabinet, and when I went to plug it in, it seemed a little too reluctant. Before I force and break something I wanted a sanity check.

The Product is a Samsung UN40es6500 LED TV.

Looking at the Toslink port on the back of the TV a couple things strike me

There is no door over the port.
Looking into the port, there appears to be a piece of metal over the top of the red light in the back.

Is that a retainer clip that was inadvertently bent into the back of the port?
Am I just not pushing hard enough to put the cable into the port?

    Thanks

Ethernet cable doesn't fit in socket [ 6 Answers ]

First of all, yes, I'm putting it in the right place. I know which one is the modem socket and which one is for an ethernet cable. I've used this same socket (is that the best word?) for over a year, and it's been fine. Now, however, my ethernet cable keeps coming out of the socket. I can put...
