Wiring connection for harbor breeze fan
I recently had a water leak issue which required me to disconnect my ceiling fan in a rush. Ready to reconnect and I'm looking at a black, red, white, green and copper wire coming out of ceiling and a black, blue, green and white wire coming from the fan. 5 from ceiling, 4 from fan. Not sure of what goes to what. Help,

What kind of switches do you have on the wall?
A dimmer and speed control, two switches, or just one switch?

You need to test to determine which hot wire comes from each switch.
You will connect the greens and the bare copper.
White to white.
Then either black to black and blue to red, OR black to red and blue to black.

Speed control goes to black, red to blue -light,
When I wire a ceiling fan I use the red for the fan and the black for the light.
What if it was wired that way?

Speed control would have to go to the black. They stated they had a speed control and a dimmer.

SAYS WHO?
If you run a 3-wire (ie:14/3) up to a fan/light from two switches on the wall where is it written that the fan must be the black wire and the light must be the red?
Like I said before, SOP for me is the opposite.
Am I misunderstanding what you are saying?
