    Comprehensive Immigration reform
    Hello:

The right wing KNOWS it LOST the Hispanic vote, so they SAY they want to mellow their positions.. Now they want COMPREHENSIVE immigration reform. But, I don't know what that means... Is it the same old policy with a new name? Have you relented on your pledge to throw 12 million people out? Are you going to support a path to citizenship?

I just want to know. Is this like the war on women, where you think that the country simply doesn't UNDERSTAND right wing policy, and if they did, they'd EMBRACE it? Or, are there real changes afoot?

Here's what I think. Changes or not, you'll NEVER get people like smoothy to support amnesty. That would be NEVER. And you've got LOTS of smoothy's..

    Hello again, Steve:

So, you KNOW that I'll kick your a$$ on this issue too. If MY positions had been totally repudiated like YOURS were, I wouldn't want to talk about them either.

Since I'm the minority in my neighborhood (we've been over that many times) and not a racist or a right-wing extremist I understand the situation. However, you're just taunting again, like your president does.

    Hello Mr Reasonable...

    Then you support amnesty. Cool.

But, what are you going to DO about the smoothy's in your party? You're NEVER going to change Hispanic minds with people like him on the loose..

So, let's wind this up... You're a reasonable right winger who supports AMNESTY, but you KNOW your party will LOSE the debate because you'll NEVER get people like smoothy to go along...

    Makes sense to me.

There are 11 to 12 million illegal immigrants in the USA.
7 to 8 million of them currently hold jobs illegally .
The rest presumably living off the largess of the American taxpayer . Meanwhile ; the unemployment rate for Americans with a high school education is hovering around 18 % or about 27 million American citizens of the 54.7 million working-age Americans not holding a job .
Those are facts I could use in a campaign. The problem is that everyone tiptoes with political correctness and doesn't address what the cost to the American taxpayer all this extracts .
But what do I know . Maybe the 47% wants to share their government largess .

    Hello tom:

Look. I know you think they should be deported, but that's NOT going to get you ANY Hispanic vote... Without it, the Democrats will OWN the presidency in 2016.

So, I don't know what's more important. Look. I'm HAPPY you guys aren't going to change up.

Unlesssssss, of course, you believe that your message is PURE, and it's the MESSENGER that's at fault. And all you need to do, is say it LOUDER than you did before.

    That's a GREAT strategy.

Ok?? Are they going to convince smoothy that he's wrong, or are they going to convince the rest of us about the wonders of deportation?

Or are they just going to stand there and say LOOK, I'm Hispanic and right wingers LOVE me? Yeah.. That'll work.

Here's another thing you don't know... Having tokens, like these guys, attracts WHITE voters to your party - NOT Hispanic ones. That's because white voters don't really WANT to belong to a racist party.

But, unless you change your POLICY, holding up tokens to show how liberal you are, AIN'T going to work.

I don't have a strategy except to say that legal Hispanics probably don't like illegal immigrants competing with them for jobs either . Who knows ;maybe I'm wrong ,but I don't think so. My message hasn't changed ;secure the border and then let's deal with who is here ,AND which of them should be given a path to citizenship outside of the one already established by immigration law.

Hey, you have been down sizing in the job market, surely it is time to down size the population, 11 million that's only 3% of the population so not a big ask and think of all those jobs that will be available to your kids

Tom would never let his kids cut grass and pick fruit in the heat of the summer. Are you crazy? Smoothy sure wouldn't that's for sure. Rubio is a cubano, not all that popular with the rest of the latino community and I can't wait for Cruz to open HIS mouth about immigration reform.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...tunity-agenda/

All of that is well-phrased and smart policy. But strangely missing is any mention of immigration reform. There is no better demonstration of the GOP's commitment to upward mobility and support for the American dream than championing immigrants who by their very decision to come to a new country display entrepreneurial moxie
The latino community awaits your new ideas since they have rejected the old ones.

?? Did it myself for years... why wouldn't I "allow " my kid to do it ?

'also did many other well paying manual jobs that the illegals now do ,like drywall ,road construction etc . I still work in a factory where legal immigrants like their jobs and don't want to lose them to illegals .

"factory" do they still have factories over there? Shows to go you, there will be a factory led recovery, I always thought you used the PC correct term, plant, although I always had difficulty working out whether you were talking about the shrubbery, you know there could be a lot of jobs in looking after the shrubbery, it could become the new plant
