    Need advice about a horrible back spasm
    I have a muscle spasm in my lower back. It has been going for about 48 hours on and off. Ibuprofen doesn't do anything. Its not affected by touch. Doesn't matter if I am standing or sitting. Not on my spine... its off to the side about 2" under the 2nd or 3rd rib from the last.

    I actually had a sonogram of my kidneys the day it started and there was nothing appearing to be wrong according to the doc's. Any thoughts?

    I'm not really an expert on this stuff, but my dad used to have back problems like these and he did special exercises to help release the pain which you might be able to find on YouTube, I would also phone the doctor again and tell him/her exactly what wrong if its hurting you

    I've been dealing with back spasms for a while. Medical massage therapy has changed my life. It hurts, but it helps a lot. Try warm compresses at home in the areas that are bothering you. If you have medical insurance, the medical massage therapy might be a covered benefit.
