    Amerigroup health plus
    Amerigroup sent me a letter stating that mines and my daughter personal health info has been sent to 72diffrent health facilitys on their fault!and all they said was their sorry can I sue them .thier tryna offer me a idenity theft thing frm them for 1yr due to their mistake!

    Sue them for what, sorry but merely sending your information to other medical facilities did not cause you any loss, in fact since other medical facilities must follow the rules also, the information should still be secure.

    You can ask them for the ID protection, and see what they say.

    Also you should have your credit information locked or frozen anyway, for max protection, each state in US offers free to low cost that require credit bureaus to so this

    My s.s. And her s.s. Was on those papers and they even said that they were also mailed to two incorrect addresses.. I don't even know how they made a mistake like that. This is why I'm asking

    You can sue, but since you have incurred no loss you are unlikely to win anything. This has happened several times and generally the agency making the mistake provides a credit monitoring service. That is the most you can expect.

    Thank you.. cause I was wondering did they break the hipaa law.by sending my personal info to 2incorrect addresses.. im more concern about our s.s.flying around god knOws where thanks to their mistake!

    Yes they did violate HIPAA. However, violating HIPAA is not grounds for a suit. At most, it would mean a fine imposed.

    And that is why they are offering the credit monitoring service. This has happened to me at least three times. Financial institutions were either hacked or put out personal info by mistake. In each case, I received credit monitoring for at least a year. My info was not used in each case. So I would not be hugely concerned, but take the monitoring and make sure you check any request for credit reported.
