    PIP Changes in Florida
The governor of Florida recently changed the PIP law for your auto insurance.
You must file within 14 days(Form) or your privileges are null and void. But what is the policyholder is in a coma for more than 14 days. Do the rules still apply?

    No family to file ?
They will have to deal with it, when they get better, if they can't file, they can't notify that they are in a coma
But if in a coma does it really matter at that point, doubt if they will be driving for a while if they are in the hospital in a coma any time soon.

I think you are misinformed about the law. The law doesn't say you have to file a claim within 14 days, it says you must seek medical attention within that time. 2012 Bill Summary - The Florida Senate

So, if the policyholder is in a coma, it would be deemed that they have sought and received medical care. The purpose of the law seems to be to ensure that the victom of an accident is truly injured.
