I withdrawed from Buspirone back in around June without my doctors permission. & I started having anxiety attacks. I'll start needing to throw up. My sight is blurred. I can't sleep too nicely. & I have a lot of nightmares. But I'ts still going on. It never stopped. What should I do? I was on it along with Risperdol. For mood disorder & they were put together as perscribed by my doctor. & I'm only 15.

SO start taking it again as prescribed... at 15 you are in no position to be making these decisions. When they think you are ready to stop taking it they will give you a plan to wean you off it.

Well, I've been off it now. I don't think it'd be too smart to go back on. & I went to the hospital. They were scared for me to do it but they think I'm okay. When really, I'm not.

What is your medical credentials to determine that you don't need it... the fact you had these reactions proves you do need it. They don't tell you to just stop taking anti anxiety medications abruptly... talk to your doctor.. if they think its OK to stop... they will give you a plan on how to taper off based on your dosages and the time you've been on it... there is no one generic answer.. its different for each person and only your doctor has the information to make those recommendations.

I'm not being mean... I know people that's had to come off these types of meds... and it takes MONTHS and usually needs periodic adjustments. Because it truly IS a withdrawal. You can't do it cold turkey.. that can be dangerous.

You don't HAVE to be a Doctor to know this... I've had friends go through this, I've had girlfriends go through this... my WIFE has gone through this in the past... So I DO know these things. I've heard doctors explain why and how it has to be done a certain way because I was there... I've seen what happens when its done too quickly... more than a few times. I know from doctors telling me this that abruptly stopping can be very dangerous.. not just medically but psycologically. When you are 51 you do learn a lot of things over the years.

I wasn't. I'm scared yeah. But my doctor said I was okay after 7 days in the psyciatric hospital. It also left me with Depression & paranoia.

Abruptly stopping causes a rebound effect where your symptoms come back usually worse then before and do it suddenly. People are known to get very irrational and do irrational things (including hurting themselves or worse)... with certain medications it can bemedically dangerous as well. A gradual tapering while being monitored for symptoms regularly by your doctor is intended to let your body adjust...

I decided to stop taking it because it made me feel depressed. I was gaining weight. I started cutting myself. I was having suicidal thoughts. I felt no self confidence inside of me at all. There was a lot going on.

You can't just stop taking your meds. That can be very dangerous. When you have symptoms like this you need to communicate to your prescribing doctor. It sounds as though you need a possible change of medication.
